In this lesson and reading many examples of what separate leadership vs manager I want to share several traits that I believe is essential to be being leader and manager first is the ability to lead from a secondary statue for example I was a community supervisor for twenty years plus however my position and duties required for me to empower hundreds of volunteer and supporter for me to successful. A friend and mentor of mine share and encourage me to practice concept of being the smoke instead of the “fire” in other words even though I was the leader and manager I was better served when I allowed be in front of line “center of the action this style of I leadership was easy transition for me.
I must say that it works people particularly volunteer will work twice as hard if they have a say or put in position of supervision. therefore one of my biggest challenge as the true leader was creating and implementing supervisory roles or duties for my support base of worker to fulfill their need to be in charge and feel important.A good leader or manager must be able to manage personality.
